 Beskrivelse:   af  Gilles Cuny
This block contains 30 vertebrae of a Lamniformes shark, as well as a skin imprint with dermal denticles, and some cartilage that may belong to a fin. These vertebrae most probably belong to a single individual. The vertebrae show many radial partition, or septa, and thus belong to the lamnoid kind of vertebrae. This kind of vertebrae is known in several families (Orectolobidae, Odontaspididae, Alopiidae, Rhincodontidae, Cetorhinidae and Lamnidae). Their small size allows to rule out the possibility they belong to a rhincodontid or a cetorhinid shark, but a more precise identification is impossible.

Similar vertebrae have been found at Trelde Næs, near Fredericia, but the fossil in the collection of the Geological Museum shows only eight vertebrae not as well preserved as DK 426. In my opinion , this specimen is therefore worth being declared a Danekræ.
